Board Sets 2006-07 Goals at Annual Summer Retreat
At its annual retreat this June in La Jolla, the ACCCA Board of Directors inducted new Board members and a new slate of officers, set goals and launched new initiatives to provide excellent member services in the coming year.
The retreat, held June 21-23, included an orientation for Board members, a discussion of the member survey results, and a strategic planning session aimed at setting the direction for the association in the coming year. The results of that session include several goals and related initiatives that will move the organization forward and better serve ACCCA members in 2006-07.
The three broad goals that the Board will focus on for the coming year include:
- Continue to review and improve internal processes to make the Association more efficient and provide more value to members
- Continue to aggressively advocate on behalf of members and the system
- Continue to develop and provide outstanding professional development opportunities for administrators
Related to these goals are a series of initiatives identified by the Board and commissions to be accomplished in 2006-07.
- Increase the Association’s influence by reaching a membership goal of 1,000 members by January 1, 2007
- Continue to work with ACSA and encourage the increase of the professional liability insurance coverage to $1 million for all members
- Continue to improve the recently re-designed ACCCA Web site to provide information and services to members as well as provide resources for campus reps in the membership recruitment process
- Provide administrative assistance to ACCCA affiliate ACBO as they work toward their goal of providing a training institute for CBOs in the state
- Explore options for the development of an “Admin 201” program to take the original Admin 101 concept to the next level
- Re-design the format for the annual budget workshop in January to include a training component in addition to a review of the annual budget proposal
- Energize the Association’s Diversity Forum and create an online resource for diversity training and issues
